MSU Autonomous Vehicle at World Mobility Forum in Detroit

This is a strategic area of research for Michigan. One of our professors demonstrated a deep neural network trained to pick individual human pedestrians out from 10-20 fps video taken as a car navigates the MSU campus. If you've ever tried to drive across our campus in the middle of the day, with students trying to get to class or lab or dorm, you'll understand what a difficult computational task this is!
